Jana Gomes (she/her) is a highly experienced workshop facilitator, keynote speaker and sexuality educator  specialising in consent education and sexual violence prevention. With a background in psychology, sexology and sexual health, Jana is committed to promoting healthy relationships, sexual well-being, and social justice. 

Jana has worked with a wide range of audiences across Australia and New Zealand, including primary and secondary school students, university and residential college students, teachers, parents, and professional athletes. Her experience extends to organisations such as the Australian Football League (AFL), the National Rugby League (NRL), the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA), and the National Football League (NFL). In 2023 and 2024, she facilitated ‘Respectful Relationships’ workshops at the AFL Players’ Association Induction Conference, supporting athletes in developing positive relationship skills.

Jana has created and facilitated consent and healthy relationships workshops for young people involved in the youth justice system and the Department for Child Protection. Through these programs, she has empowered vulnerable youth to build skills for healthier relationships, safety, and respect.

In 2024, Jana was invited to contribute to a panel discussion on respectful relationships, alongside leading legal experts such as Justice Sandi McDonald, Lisa Dunlop SC, David Edwardson KC, and Commissioner Sarah Quick.

More recently, Jana was involved in the Respectful Relationships Pembroke Student Symposium, where she served as the master of ceremonies and delivered a keynote presentation alongside Daniel Principe and Chanel Contos.

With extensive experience in consent education, Jana has facilitated workshops for over 60,000 individuals. Her work is particularly focused on the role of effective consent education in preventing sexual violence, enhancing sexual health and safety, and fostering a culture of respect and equality. She is deeply committed to advancing gender equality, violence prevention, and socio-economic equity.

Jana’s expertise also includes the design, implementation, and evaluation of education programs in both community and corporate settings. Her approach is sex-positive, culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and evidence-based, ensuring that her work is responsive to the diverse needs of participants.
